JDU prepares workers for drive to boost Nitish Kumar's image

The training programme seeks to make party workers aware of the “Nitish style of politics” and its “positive impact” on the state’s development, party sources said. It wants them to spread the message to the grassroots level so as to address the possibility of an anti-incumbency sentiment, which could creep in before the 2019 Lok Sabha polls.
Every day, at least 800 JDU workers from various parts of Bihar reach the party state headquarters in Patna to attend the ongoing 22-day party training programme, which ends on Friday. So far, more than 22,000 workers have participated in it.
At the sessions, top party leaders deliver speeches on topics ranging from the JDU’s “politics with difference”; potential to convert social issues such as total prohibition, child marriage and anti-dowry into political issues; ability to set political agenda in its favour; political importance of Nitish Kumar’s seven resolves programme (Nitish Ke Saat Nischay Karyakrama) and the CM’s commitment to establish the rule of law.
“Our focus is also on the Bihar Public Grievance Redressal Act, which empowers people to get their grievances redressed. We prompt our workers to highlight importance of this Act for common people at the ground level. Government officials have to listen the people’ grievances and solve their problems,” JDU spokesperson Neeraj Kumar told ET over the phone from Patna.
