JDU netas stay away from Sharad Yadav's event
NEW DELHI: Senior Janata Dal (United) leader Sharad Yadav did not find much support among his party MLAs and MPs on the first day of his public interaction programme in Bihar. Yadav plans to visit 28 places in 7 districts before ending his trip on August 12 in Madhepura, which he has represented in the Lok Sabha.

“Dono ke manifesto alag alag hai. Ye loktantra mein vishwas ka sankat hai. (They have different manifestos. This is a crisis of credibility). It’s for the first time in the history of the country that the two manifestos of rival groupings have mingled,” he told people at his first meeting at Sonepur in reference to the alliance between JDU and BJP and subsequent formation of the new government headed by Nitish Kumar.

Yadav was apparently very cautious during his interaction with reporters in Patna. He reiterated his old statement in which he had termed the alliance between JDU and BJP as betrayal of people’s mandate.

Meanwhile, JDU appears to be in no haste to initiate action against Sharad Yadav. “Party leadership may first remove him from the post of JDU parliamentary party leader in the Rajya Sabha,” a source in JDU said. JDU has already started keeping a watch on his public programmes. “RJD workers are participating in his programme,” JDU spokesperson Neeraj Kumar told ET.
