JD(S) tells Congress appointees to ‘hang on’, citing lapses
BENGALURU-The new chairmen to state-owned boards and corporations, and parliamentary and political secretaries in Karnataka that the Congress announced on Saturday will have to wait for some more time. The JD(S) has not yet accepted what the Congress has decided and a formal government announcement will take a few more days.

This means the list is set to undergo some changes. Chief minister HD Kumaraswamy said on Monday that JD(S) national president HD Deve Gowda and AICC leaders would meet in the next few days and revisit the list the Congress had put out, in an obvious confirmation that the list announced by the Congress, unilaterally, was not a conclusive one.

“They (the Congress) have sent the list to us. We will have to cross-check it. We will do it in the next 3-4 days,” he said.

The Congress unilaterally announcing the list of its appointees to boards and corporations as well as the names of parliamentary and political secretaries has not gone down well with its coalition partner. According to JD(S) sources, the party was not consulted before the Congress leaders put out the list, and it was the government, not a party, that should be announcing the appointments.

The Congress had, on Saturday, put out the list of 19 chairmen to boards and corporations, seven parliamentary secretaries, one political secretary and one special representative in Delhi.
