JD (U) re-nominates Sharad Yadav and RCP Singh to Rajya Sabha

JD (U) re-nominates Sharad Yadav and RCP Singh to Rajya Sabha
PATNA: JD (U) has re-nominated its senior leader Sharad Yadav and national general secretary RCP Singh to the Rajya Sabha on Thursday. Another leader Gulam Rasool Baliyavi is JD (U)’s candidate for the Legislative Council.

Sharad Yadav, RCP Singh and Gulam Rasool Baliyavi are among the party’s five members whose current term in Rajya Sabha would end in July. “The party has decided to re-nominate Sharad Yadavji and RCP Singh to Rajya Sabha,” JD (U)’s state president Basistha Narayan Singh told ET on phone.

JD (U)’s current strength in the Bihar assembly is 71 and thus, it is in position to send two members with the help of Congress party.

In the meantime, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad is yet to clear the name of his party candidates for the Rajya Sabha. “The name of lawyer Ram Jethmalani is under consideration. One candidate may be from Laluji’s family,” a source in RJD said.
