NEW DELHI: Twitterati was all praise for Jayant Sinha, the Minister of State for Civil Aviation, for his conduct while travelling in an AirAsia flight. Sinha was flying from New Delhi to Ranchi today when he asked for a specific food item. But the crew told him he had booked a South Indian meal which can’t be changed now. Sinha readily paid for his additional snacks.

A Twitter user, Asad Rashid, who was sitting next to Sinha tweeted this. Rashid wrote the cabin crew did not recognise the minister, and obviously the minister too did not feel the need to identify himself.

Sinha retweeted Rashid's tweet with a 'winking face' smiley.

A Twitter user remarked: "That's the spirit, Sir @jayantsinha ?? Hope politicians of India from every corner....tries to learn from this. Humbleness wins over arrogance, everytime and always."

Many Twitter users also praised the Air Asia crew for their professionalism, assuming that someone in the crew knew that Sinha was the MoS Aviation. "I feel that both should get accolades. @jayantsinha Ji for the gentleman he is and not behaving like an usual man of power and also @AirAsia for adhering to the rules and not giving a special treatment."

"It's good that @AirAsia treated a customer like a customer even with the status," another user remarked.
