Jayalalithaa launches horticulture projects

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa today launched a Rs 10.18 crore horticulture project, taken up in collaboration with Israel.

Chennai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa today launched a Rs 10.18 crore horticulture project, taken up in collaboration with Israel.

The project, envisaging setting up of a vegetable seedling growing centre in Dindigul District, was launched by Jayalalithaa through video conferencing facility from here.

She also launched a project to create flower seedlings in Krishnagiri district at a proposed investment of Rs 8.80 crore, a state government release here said.

Among others, she inaugurated 1141 storage godowns constructed by different farmers' cooperative societies at a cost of Rs 97.20 crore.

This will result in the storage capacity in the state going up from eight lakh metric tonnes to 9.30 lakh metric tonnes, the release said. P
