Jayalalithaa disproportionate assets case: PMK welcomes DMK's decision to file appeal
CHENNAI: PMK today welcomed DMK's decision to appeal against Chief Minister Jayalalithaa's acquittal in the disproportionate assets case.

Party founder S Ramadoss recalled that he had recently urged DMK chief M Karunanidhi that his party should file an appeal in the case.

"It is welcome that the DMK has decided to go in for an appeal. Things cannot be delayed thinking that there is lot of time," he said in a statement here.

DMK should file its appeal before the end of summer vacation and "appoint a lawyer with special expertise in handling criminal and corruption cases," he added.

Karunanidhi had yesterday announced that his party would move the Supreme Court against Jayalalithaa's acquittal in the disproportionate assets case by Karnataka High Court on May 11.

Ramadoss reiterated his demand that the Karnataka government should also file an appeal in the apex court against the AIADMK supremo's acquittal.
