Jayalalithaa announces 3-day campaign to celebrate by-poll victory and achievements

CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and AIADMK supremo J Jayalaithaa has announced that her party representatives will participate in a three-day state-wide propaganda between July 10 and 12 to celebrate her victory in the recently concluded RK Nagar by-poll and to highlight the achievements of her government in the last four years.

In her statement issued from the AIADMK headquarters here, Jayalalithaa has assigned roles for party representatives who will take part in rallies and oversee cultural performances from the ward level onwards. A list of speakers who will deliver the special address in each of these public meetings have been identified and is being announced in the party mouthpiece, the statement said. The party representatives will have to ensure that cultural programmes and stage performances are organised at each of these venues.

Listing down about 65 achievements with the Chennai Metro rail topping the list, Jaylalithaa said that under her leadership the state government has implemented several schemes that are being emulated by other states across the country.

Jayalalithaa has instructed her party representatives to talk about how the various schemes have successfully worked for the growth of Tamil Nadu and enriched the people of the state.

"Soon after completion of the three-day event the party’s district representatives and conveners will ensure that in their respective wards, panchayat unions, towns and every nook and corner where people of the state are living the message about the four years of AIADMK governance and the massive victory in the RK Nagar bypolls should be celebrated by means of street-corner meetings, handouts and wall posters," the statement added.
