Jat row: National Crisis Management Committee asks Haryana government to ensure water supply to Delhi
NEW DELHI: The National Crisis Management Committee today asked the Haryana government to ensure that there is no disruption in water supply to Delhi amidst crisis due to the Jat stir for quota in government jobs in the neighbouring state.

NCMC, headed by Cabinet Secretary P K Sinha, took stock of the situation in Haryana and directed the state government to take "stringent action" against those indulging in violence and other anti-social activities.

Sinha told Haryana Chief Secretary D S Dhesi that water supply to Delhi should be the topmost priority and all necessary steps should be taken to ensure that no disruption takes place, a senior official said.

The Chief Secretary, who took part in the meeting through video conferencing, informed NCMC that situation in Haryana is fast returning to normalcy, he said.

The civil administration has been effectively strengthened by paramilitary forces and army troops have been deployed for maintaining law and order in affected districts, the official said.

Dhesi also conveyed that the blocked road between Rewari and Jhajjhar has been re-opened while other road blockades are being cleared fast, he said.
