Jashodaben wants to see Narendra Modi as Prime Minister
GANDHINAGAR: Narendra Modi took more than four decades to accept that he was married to someone called Jashodaben, even though he walked out on her within a few weeks of marriage. But the lady, who was married to Modi in 1968, doesn’t hold any grudges against him and desperately wants him to become the PM.

A day after Modi accepted her as his wife — on paper, that is — while filing his affidavit before the Vadodara returning officer, Jashodaben left for pilgrimage, her younger brother Kamlesh Modi told a local TV channel.

Jashodaben has vowed not to eat rice or wear sandals until her husband becomes the PM, said her brother. Jashodaben, who was married to Modi when she was just 17, still writes her full name as Jashodaben Narendrabhai Modi.

The 62-year-old retired as a government school teacher and now lives in a village.
