Janta Dal (United) to contest 15 assembly constituencies in Arunachal Pradesh

Arunachal Pradesh will have simultaneous assembly and Lok Sabha polls. Polls for 60 assembly seat and two parliamentary seats will be held on April 11.

GUWAHATI: Bihar-based Janta Dal (United) will contest 15 assembly constituencies in Arunachal Pradesh.

Arunachal Pradesh will have simultaneous assembly and Lok Sabha polls. Polls for 60 assembly seat and two parliamentary seats will be held on April 11.

Itanagar MLA Techi Kaso and Daporijo MLA Dikto Yekar will contest the upcoming assembly polls on a JD(U) ticket.


In a statement, the party said: “Former legislators and former students' leaders and public leaders are among the party candidates. The party is also fielding a lone woman candidate Padmeshwsri Jomoh from Lekang seat."

The party also expressed hope all JD(U) candidates will win and the party will be able to secure reasonable percentage of vote share.

JDU has a MLA in Nagaland and is part of BJP led ruling coalition. It has organisational set up on Manipur. JDU has opposed Citizenship Amendment bill and send a high level delegation to Northeast India where it met organisations opposing the bill.
