Traffic cops have launched a plan under Jansahayog Scheme to award people who report more than 100 violations committed by motorists on Delhi roads in a month.
All one has to do is to register their number at the DTP helpline--8750871493. The member can then report offences like riding without helmet, triple riding, yellow line violation, stop line violation, driving against the flow of traffic, parking on footpath or a defective number plate. "After winning 50 points and 75 points, the member will be sent alerts. Registered members will then be awarded suitable giftsfree vouchers on completion of 100 Whatsapp reported violations to Delhi traffic police," said Muktesh Chander, special commissioner, traffic.
Users can also send a short video clipping of reckless driving. However, while reporting, clear photographic view of the registration number plate of the violating motor vehicle needs to be sent.
