Jankovic has Hollywood ambitions
World number three Jelena Jankovic has the looks and personality to be a movie star, and that's exactly what she has in mind.
The hard-working Serbian, whose characteristic vigour has propelled her to the top of the tennis world, has already been offered a bit part in a Serbian sitcom, and plans acting classes to raise her profile.
"I want to do some acting classes so I can do some of the work, because people say I'm really talented and I have a good sense of humour," the 22-year-old said.
"They say I have charisma. They say I am good in front of the camera.
"I would love to do something like that in the future. But obviously tennis is my No. 1 priority."
Jankovic is also heavily involved in humanitarian work, becoming a UNICEF national ambassador for Serbia recently, with the long-standing effects of war in her homeland stirring her to put back into her country.
"Even before I became an ambassador I was helping kids, and every time I was in Serbia I wanted to do some activities to raise as much money as possible and just in general with the kids," she said.
"To make them smile and make their life a little bit better; this is what I love to do and it makes my life very satisfied and it makes my life very happy.
"I'm quite sensitive and very emotional, for me it can sometimes be very difficult and I break down in situations. I start crying and I don't like cameras around. But it makes my heart very happy when I can help."
