Jan Lokpal Bill: Pro-Hazare protests not against any party, individual, says Rita Bahugana Joshi

LUCKNOW: The protests being staged by pro-Anna Hazare activists at the houses of MPs are an upsurge against the system and not aimed at any individual or party, UPCC President Rita Bahugana Joshi said.

"The outburst is against the system and not against any individual, party or government," she told reporters here.

Referring to the attacks outside Rahul Gandhi's office in Amethi, she said the impact of the ongoing campaign was all over the country and it was not right to single out Amethi.

The protests are not a reflection of the popularity of the party leadership, Joshi said.

She said it was heartening to see that people have come out against an issue like corruption which was till now being considered as a way of life.

"Now, the feeling is that we have to fight it out," she said, adding that it was also good that the movement has been totally peaceful and non-violent.
