Jan Lokpal Bill: Mayawati comes out in open support of Anna Hazare

LUCKNOW: Bahujan Samaj Party czarina and Chief Minister Mayawati has come out in open support of Anna Hazare and his movement against corruption. She said that her party and government fully support Anna Hazare and his cause and pointed out several steps taken by her government to stop corruption.

She said that the way in which Anna Hazare and his supporters were arrested from their residence was undemocratic.

She said that there were several differences between the UPA government and the civil society members over the Lokpal Bill and both should resolve differences by talking to each other.

She said that both the sides should work towards bringing an effective Lokpal Bill so that corruption in the country could be contained.

She said that her party not only supports Anan Harare but all organizations fighting corruption and criminalisation of politics.
