J&K cabinet today expressed concern over the repeated ceasefire violations by Pakistan which has killed half a dozen persons and injured scores of others.

SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir cabinet today expressed concern over the repeated ceasefire violations by Pakistan which has killed half a dozen persons and injured scores of others.

The state cabinet which met under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed expressed strong concern and anguish over the repeated ceasefire violations across the Line of Control and the International Border in Poonch, R S Pura and other sectors in the state.

The cabinet mourned the loss of precious lives in these "senseless acts of violence" and expressed condolences with the bereaved families, Education Minister Nayeem Akhtar told reporters after the meeting.

Meanwhile, Akhtar said the cabinet expressed satisfaction over the recently observed Independence Day celebrations and large participation of the people in these functions.
