He said that the Union Territory witnessed a historic voter turnout of 51.06 per cent in the Lok Sabha elections. He said that Kashmir voted for ballot over bullet. The CEC added that the valley witnessed 30 point jump in voters from 2019 elections.
Jammu and Kashmir has 87.09 lakh voters, including 42.6 lakh women, across 90 constituencies.
Kumar added that the region is rural dominated and has 11838 polling stations with average of 735 voters per station.
