Jammu and Kashmir has 264 sick industrial units: State Government

As many as 264 units are financially sick in Jammu and Kashmir, state's Industries and Commerce Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo said today.

JAMMU: As many as 264 units are financially sick in Jammu and Kashmir, state's Industries and Commerce Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo said today.

While replying to a question in Legislative Assembly here, the Minister said that 24,245 units are functional while as many as 264 units are financially sick.

He informed the House that 47 industrial estates have been established in Jammu and Kashmir comprising 37,143 industrial units.

The Minister said the Department has taken many steps to check the failure of industrial units in the State.

He said the steps include incentives as per the industrial policy, marketing support, creation of skill councils, facilitation council for settlement of delayed payments and regular reviews at State Level Banker Committee meetings.
