Jammu and Kashmir government gives sanction to creation of over 1,000 posts

J&K govt today accorded sanction for creation of 1,297 posts in Rural Development and Animal and Sheep Husbandry departments.

SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir government today accorded sanction for creation of 1,297 posts in Rural Development and Animal and Sheep Husbandry departments.

The state Cabinet approved for creation of 1,083 posts of Village Level Workers in the Rural Development Department, 214 posts in Animal and Sheep Husbandry Departments and gave a nod to establish 71 Mobile Veterinary Centres, an official spokesman said.

The Cabinet also approved establishment of Treasuries at Manjakote (Rajouri), Assar (Doda), Ramsoo (Ramban), Kahara (Doda) and Warwan (Kishtwar) in Jammu region and Awantipora (Pulwama) and Achabal (Anantnag) in Kashmir.

The Sub-Centres of Trigam and Madwa in Bandipora district will be upgraded to the level of Primary Health Centres (PHCs) and posts for medical and para-medical staff be created for the purpose, he said.

The Health Department has also been instructed to make an assessment of the medical facilities in the state using geo-mapping techniques.

The Cabinet approved payment of compensation to the tune of Rs 14.71 crore for state land for the construction of flyover from Bikram Chowk to Government Women College, Gandhi Nagar, in Jammu.

The promotion of three incharge Directors - Gurdev Kour, Fazal Karim and Mushtaq Ahmad Zaroo - as Directors Prosecutions was also approved.

Sanction was accorded to setting up of one State Transmission Company (Transco) and two State Distribution Companies (Discoms), one each for Kashmir Division and Jammu Division, and one Tradeco (Holding Company) under companies Act, 1956, the spokesman added.
