Jammu and Kashmir assembly polls: Doda records 79 per cent polling, Kishtwar 76 per cent

As per a report available with the Home Ministry, Doda had seen 72.97 per cent polling and Kishtwar had seen 74.44 per cent of polling in 2008 Assembly elections.

NEW DELHI: Doda and Kishtwar have recorded the highest 79.06 per cent and 76.45 per cent polling respectively among all 15 constituencies in Jammu and Kashmir where elections took place in the first phase.

As per a report available with the Home Ministry, Doda had seen 72.97 per cent polling and Kishtwar had seen 74.44 per cent of polling in 2008 Assembly elections.

Other constituencies which saw high turn out of polls yesterday include Nobra (75.6 per cent), Bhaderwah (71.13 per cent) and Kangan (69.96 per cent).

In 2008 elections, Nobra 74.24 per cent, Bhaderwah 65.55 per cent and Kangan 59.46 per cent polling took place.

Inderwal has recorded 69.43 per cent (72.75 per cent in 2008), Ramban 67.25 per cent and Banihal 67.8 per cent (67.05 per cent).

In Jharkhand, the highest polling was recorded in Bhavnathpur 69 per cent (63 per cent in 2009), Hussainabad 67 per cent (60 per cent in 2009), Garhwa 64 per cent (62 per cent) and Panki 63 per cent (59 per cent).
