Senior bureaucrat Jairaj Phatak was on Friday named the new Municipal Commissioner of Mumbai.

MUMBAI: Senior bureaucrat Jairaj Phatak was on Friday named the new Municipal Commissioner of Mumbai. Phatak, who belongs to the 1978 batch of IAS officers, was till now Principal Secretary in Urban Development department of Maharashtra Government.
He succeeds Johny Joseph, who has taken over as the Chief Secretary of the state.
