Jagan may face ire of Telangana supporters
Kadapa MP Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy is likely to face opposition from Telangana supporters during his proposed fast in Nizamabad district this week.
"Three parties - Congress, TDP and YSR Congress - are not making their stand clear on Telangana. YSR Congress Party has the responsibility to answer. Since they (YSR Congress led by Jagan) had displayed a placard in Parliament in support of united Andhra Pradesh, people of Telangana will question," TRS MLA and party president K Chandrasekhar Rao's nephew T Harish Rao told reporters here today.
Jagan is organising the protest at Armoor in Nizamabad district on January 10 over various issues concerning farmers. The Kadapa MP had earlier faced violent protests when he ventured to undertake his 'odarpu yatra' (tour for consoling) in Warangal district.
The YSR Congress party maintains that though it respected the sentiments of Telangana people, it is for the Centre to take a decision on the separate statehood issue.
Meanwhile, main opposition TDP led by its president N Chandrababu Naidu held a 'padyatra' and a public meeting in Warangal district of Telangana region last week despite protests by the TRS and other Telangana supporters.
