J & K govt to ask Centre to grant industrial package
Jammu and Kashmir government would request the Centre to grant an industrial package to the state on the lines of the package provided to the northeastern states.
"We will request the Centre to grant an industrial package on the lines of the package given to northeast for growth of the industrial sector in the state," Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad said today.
"Both the entrepreneurs and the government should join hands to ensure industrial growth inn the state," Azad said while interacting with prominent businessmen at Bari-Brahmana near here today.
Azad said industries in the state have suffered a lot due to militancy.
He said the Centre has provided many incentives to the state including subsidy in capital investment and income tax exemptions.
The Chief Minister said a committee has been constituted to look into the problems and demands of the industrial sector with regard to power supply.
Earlier, he inaugurated an industrial unit, set up at a cost of Rs 727 crore. Azad also visited various industrial units and interacted with entrepreneurs and workers.
