It's time for Left parties to join 'Janata Parivar': SP leader Shivpal Yadav

LUCKNOW: Samajwadi Party leader Shivpal Yadav today said Left parties should join the ' Janata Parivar' to fight capitalist forces that are being promoted by the BJP-led government at the Centre.

"I ask Communist party leader Atul Anjan to join Janata Parivar. It's the need of the hour to fight capitalist forces being promoted by the BJP government," Yadav said.

He was addressing a function on May Day, where CPI national secretary Anjaan was also present.

The merger of six former 'Janata Parivar' offshoots -- Samajwadi Party, Janata Dal United, Rashtriya Janata Dal, Indian National Lok Dal, Janata Dal Secular and Samajwadi Janata Party -- was announced recently.

Yadav said only his Samajwadi Party was capable of dealing with communal forces and threats posed by the capitalists.

"We (the SP-led UP government) have launched a number of schemes for all sections of the society including labourers. Only SP could take care of all sections in an unbiased way," he added.
