It's proving difficult to tackle power crisis due to theft: Akhilesh Yadav
DEORIA (UTTAR PRADESH): Expressing concern over power theft through illegal connections, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav today said it was becoming difficult to deal with power crisis due to this problem.

"How can we deal with power crisis when electricity is being supplied with 'katia' (illegal) connections. Power theft is adversely affecting the state's development," Yadav told reporters here.

He said the state government had initiated a number of measures to check power theft and has launched a campaign for the same asking people to shun the practice.

Yadav also alleged that he was not getting due support of the opposition parties as far as development of the state was concerned. The chief minister was here to attend a programme organised on the death anniversary of freedom fighter Bhadrasen Singh.
