Mumbai: The Maharashtra Navnirman Sena may emerge as a beneficiary of the political uncertainty surrounding the Maha Vikas Aghadi government.

While the Eknath Shinde camp maintains it would remain a separate group, a few legal experts claim under the anti-defection law the rebel faction would have no other option but to merge with either the BJP or the Prahar Janshakti Party.

The Eknath Shinde camp has disputed it, however, sources said if it is proved wrong legally, it would have to consider merging with the MNS. Shinde recently speaking with Raj after the latter had a surgery. Raj Thackeray, who was in the Shiv Sena, still has a pull among the Sena cadre.
