PITHORAGARH: A mountaineering team of the 14th battalion of the ITBP was today felicitated by the force for scaling a peak of 6,511 metres in October this year.

Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) today felicitated the mountaineering team of 14th battalion, under Northern frontier command at Dehradun, for scaling 6,511 metres high peak of Chaudhara, situated in Panchachuli range of Himalayas, a statement issued by the force said.

The expedition was undertaken on October 25, 2014 by A T Borkar and his team members despite heavy odds posed before them by glacial ridges, fresh snowfall and abundant crevices on the way and was termed as top mountaineering expedition of the year by Indian Mountaineering Institute in New Delhi.
