IT raids at entrepreneur's business, residential premises

MOTIHARI: Income Tax department on Friday raided the business and residential premises of an entrepreneur Alok Sharma at various locations in Bihar to ascertain alleged tax evasion by him, official sources said.
As many as 13 teams of the department carried out simultaneous raids at Sharma's business and residential premises in Patna, Vaishali, East Champaran, Muzaffarpur and West Champaran districts, the sources said.
Sharma had allegedly filed income tax returns in the past two years undervaluing his income and properties prompting the tax authorities to raid his premises.
Sharma runs industrial training institutes at several places in Bihar and has share in a cement agency at Motihari, the sources added.
