It is in Prime Minister's interest to appear before JPC, says Yashwant Sinha
BJP leader Yashwant Sinha on Monday asked Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to appear before the JPC probing 2G spectrum allocation.

"A Raja (former telecom minister) has leveled serious allegations against the finance minister ( P Chidambaram) and you. I think it is in your personal interest to appear before the JPC and clear your name. You may also request the finance minister to make a similar offer," Sinha said in a letter to the prime minister.
Sinha also reminded the prime minister of his public offer to appear before the Public Accounts Committee. "You have not made a similar offer to the JPC despite the fact that many members of the JPC have demanded that you appear before the panel," he said.
In a letter to Speaker Meira Kumar, Sinha said JPC chairman PC Chacko has been indifferent to Raja's request to allow him to appear as a witness before the panel.
