IT firm employee collapses at work, dies in hospital

Pune: An employee of an information technology firm here died after taking ill and collapsing at work, police said today.

Police said that Satish Musale, in his late 20s, an employee of IT firm Cognizant, vomited and collapsed while at work yesterday and was rushed to Ratna Memorial Hospital on Senapati Bapat road.

Senior police inspector Dayanand Dhome of Chaturshringi police station said that Musale, while working, complained of uneasiness, vomited and collapsed.


"He died during treatment. The cause of the death will be ascertained after post mortem," said Dhome.

"One of our associates was rushed from a Cognizant facility to Ratna Memorial Hospital last evening following a medical emergency. Despite life saving procedures, he died at the hospital," the company said in a statement.

Dhome said that case of accidental death had been registered.
