JAIPUR: A Jaipur court today extended the police custody of Mohd Sirazudin, marketing manager at state-owned Indian Oil Corporation, who was arrested for his alleged links with terrorist outfit ISIS, by 10 days.

District Judge of Jaipur Metropolitan Court, Dinesh Chand Somani, extended his police custody up to December 31, Public Prosecutor P S Chouhan told reporters.

The Special Operations Group (SOG) and Anti Terrorist Squad (ATS) of the state police had sought the extension for deeper probe, Chouhan said.

Sirazuddin was arrested here on December 10 by the SOG and ATS of the state police for allegedly "encouraging" Muslim youths to join ISIS, "supplying" official inputs and "recruiting members" for the terrorist outfit.

Sirazudin, who hails from Gulbarga in Karnataka, was arrested on December 10 under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.

"Objectionable" materials were seized from his residence in Jaipur, Alok Tripathi, Additional DGP (ATS and SOG) said, adding he used to contact youths through social media.
