Gujarat high court appointed Dr Satyapal Singh, an IPS officer of Maharashtra cadre as new chairman of SIT that is probing the Ishrat Jahan encounter case.

AHMEDABAD: The Gujarat high court on Thursday appointed Dr Satyapal Singh, an IPS officer of Maharashtra cadre, new chairman of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) that is probing the Ishrat Jahan encounter case.

Karnail Singh bowed out of the probe after his transfer to Mizoram.
