Ishrat case: BJP drags Congress president Sonia Gandhi, Chidambaram in controversy
NEW DELHI: The BJP has dragged Congress chief Sonia Gandhi into the Ishrat Jahan controversy in the wake of new revelations and alleged that then home minister P Chidambaram was acting on her directions when he filed a second affidavit in the case in an attempt to create roadblocks in the way of Narendra Modi’s road to becoming prime minister. “Mr P Chidambaram let the nation know.

Who is she who wrote the conspiracy? Because we all know that in the Congress party, diktats come from a singular address. You know the address. The remote control lies with her,” BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra said at a press interaction. The party further charged that the Congress took this step as it cannot tolerate Narendra Modi and Amit Shah. “Why did you (Chidambaram) suppress it? What was the need? Because you could not tolerate these two persons (Modi and Shah). You could not tolerate him as you feared him becoming the PM.

You tolerated terrorists,” Patra said. “P Chidambaram’s conspiracy has been blown off. The conspiracy to eliminate important leaders from India, conspiracy to eliminate Narendra Modi, conspiracy to fail Amit Shah. The lid has been blown off and you today have been caught red handed,” he said.
