Iron ore scam: Janardhana Reddy's custody extended

The judicial custody of the other four associates of the duo which ended today was also extended till May 10.

BANGALORE: The CBI Special Court here today extended the judicial custody till May 10 of former minister and mining baron G Janardhana Reddy and his close associate Mehfuz Ali Khan in connection with an alleged iron ore scam.

Of the six, five were produced before CBI Special Court judge Shreeshananda through video conferencing from Parappana Agrahara prison here where they are lodged.

Reddy, who has been shifted back to Chanchalaguda jail in Hyderabad in connection with ongoing probe in Obulapuram Mining Company (OMC) case, was not produced.

The other accused in the case are: former government officials S Muthaiah, S P Raju and two others, Swastik Nagaraj and Karapudi Mahesh.

The accused are in judicial custody in connection with the alleged scam relating to export of iron ore from Belekeri port in Uttara Kannada district being probed by the CBI.
