IPS officers involved in DySP suicide case get transferred
BENGALURU: Senior IPS officers AM Prasad and Pranab Mohanty, who are under a storm over the alleged suicide of DySP MK Ganapathy, have been transferred.

Both officers were named by Ganapathy hours before he allegedly handed himself in a lodge in Mangaluru. The officers, along with former minister K J George, have been named in a first information report.

Prasad, who was Additional DGP (Intelligence), has now been posted as Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic and Road Safety).

Mohanty, who was the inspector general of police at Lokayukta, has been posted on Central deputation as deputy director general of the Unique Identification Authority of India in Bengaluru.

Prasad's post has been upgraded from IGP rank to Additional DGP. The post he now holds was vacant since IPS officer M A Saleem was transferred to the Anti Corruption Bureau.
