IPS officer honoured by San Diego mayor with special proclamation
The IPS officer went to US on a research fellowship of Government of India at School of International Relations and Pacific Studies at the University of California.

"The 36th Mayor of The City of San Diego, for and on behalf of the Citizens of San Diego, do hereby proclaim July 20, 2015, as Manish S. Sharma Day in the city of San Diego," the proclamation said.
The IPS official Manish S Sharma shared the details of the honour with the media here today.
Sharma was honoured for making significant presentation on the issue of Indian geopolitics, history and security issues with relation to its neighbours and the world, as per the proclamation.
The IPS officer went to US on a research fellowship of Government of India at the School of International Relations and Pacific Studies at the University of California, San Diego.
Sharma was also awarded with "the Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition" of the United States of America's House of Representatives, which was presented by US Congressman Scott Peters of California.
The recognition honours Sharma's engagement with the World Affairs Council, commitment to engaging with the region on important global affairs and continued international and local advocacy, in addition to promotion of Indian culture and inter-community relations and spreading awareness about the vast and rich diversity of India.
