IPS officer N Harish, who hails from Kolar, was found dead in the police officers' mess at Egmore in Chennai on Thursday.

BENGALURU: IPS officer N Harish, who hails from Kolar, was found dead in the police officers' mess at Egmore in Chennai on Thursday. Harish was posted as the Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) with the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) unit in Chennai.The 32-year-old N Harish, was found dead around noon.

After getting the information of his death, his family members rushed to the Rajiv Gandhi Government Hospital in Chennai, where his body had been sent for post-mortem.

N Nagaraj, Harish's father, alleged that his son was depressed due to the pending departmental enquiry. Incidentally, Harish's wedding was to be held on March 20.

Investigations are already underway. “Harish was a 2009 IPS batch officer and was ASP of Madurai before he was posted to DVAC Chennai. He was the youngest in his batch,“ said a senior police officer.

Harish's family stays in Basaveshwara Nagar in the city.
