IPL spot fixing: Sreesanth walks out of jail along with Chavan, alleged bookies

After spending 26 days behind bars in IPL spot-fixing case, cricketer Sreesanth was released from Tihar Jail tonight along with Ankit Chavan and 17 others.

NEW DELHI: After spending 26 days behind bars in IPL spot-fixing case, cricketer Sreesanth was released from Tihar Jail tonight along with Ankit Chavan and 17 others.

Sreesanth, who was arrested along with Chavan and another player Ajit Chandila on May 16 from Mumbai by Delhi Police, did not speak to waiting media outside Tihar Jail.

All the 19, including Sreesanth, Chavan and 14 alleged bookies, were granted bail yesterday by a court here.

Sreesanth was in police custody for the first 13 days while for the rest of the period he was lodged in Tihar Jail.

In between, Chavan was granted interim bail for his marriage.
