NEW DELHI: One more suspected bookie was arrested with investigators claiming that the accused was in touch with cricketer Ajit Chandila, who is already in police custody for his alleged role in the IPL spot-fixing scandal, for "manipulating" matches.

Bhupender Nagar was apprehended from Greater Noida this evening and produced before the duty magistrate who sent him to three days of police custody.

"We have arrested one more person," a senior police official said.

Investigators claimed that Nagar was part of the fourth set of bookies Chandila was in touch with and the player has been paid Rs 70 lakh by all of them.

Chandila had got Rs 25 lakh from one set, Rs 15 lakh from another, Rs nine lakh from a third set and Rs 21 lakh from the fourth set, police sources said.

With Nagar's arrest, police have so far arrested 20 people, including cricketers S Sreesanth, Ankeet Chavan and Chandila.
