Majumdar was attacked in August and he succumbed to his injures recently in Kolkata. Barman met the family members of Majumdar at Badarghat.

He said, “The 302 section of the Indian Penal Code must be slapped against the attackers. I knew him since childhood. Majumdar suffered multiple fractures in his hands and legs during the August attack”.

Majumdar was former President of the Tripura unit of NSU and joined the Trinamool last year along with several other Congress leaders.
