Internal security key to making India a $5-trillion economy, says Shah
Home minister Amit Shah on Friday emphasised that internal security is important for achieving a $5-trillion economy.

Now, our target is to be among the top three by 2024.”
Shah added that internal security should be looked at in a holistic manner and that a number of forces would try to obstruct growth t through cyber-attacks, fake currency and other methods.
He stressed upon the need for better co-ordination between the police and para-military forces on the border. “We share 15,000 km land boundary and 7,500 km costal boundary with other countries. We can’t change our neighbours. However, the co-ordination between the para-military forces and the police force should be invincible,” Shah said.
Talking about the police, Shah felt the need to change the perception of police in people’s eye. “It is our responsibility to see that people’s perception of police and police’s perception of people are changed,” he said.
“When we are sitting here and talking about narcotics control, smuggling, terrorism, Naxalism, fake currency and law and order, perhaps we do not know that the success that we are looking at has been due to sacrifice of more than 35,000 jawans.”
