The Installation of Dish antennae, the first step towards launching "Government Cable TV", will be taken up on July 7, officials said.

THANJAVUR: The Installation of Dish antennae, the first step towards launching "Government Cable TV", will be taken up in this town on July 7, officials said.
They said The Thanjavur broadcasting Centre of the Government Cable TV corporation would cover eight districts Thanjavur, Pudukottai, Tiruvarur, Nagapattinam, Peramabalur, Ariyalur, Karur and Tiruchirappalli.
The officials said basic spade work including networking had been completed in the last one month at the Cauvery Supermarket building.
The 10 antennae would receive satellite signals and broadcast them. The trial broadcast would be done after July13. The existing Cable TV operators would provide the service at a cheaper rate, the officials said.
