Inquiry ordered into SSA project irregularities in Gujarat
An inquiry has been ordered into alleged financial irregularities in Special Training Projects (STPs) run by Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation.

Gujarat State Project Director of Sarva Siksha Abhiyan (SSA) ordered the inquiry after NGO ' Dalit Heet Rakshak Manch' filed complaints through public grievances redressal system of Gujarat Council of Elementary Education (GCEE), alleging misappropriation of funds allocated under SSA.
"As per information we had gathered in 212 STP centres being run in 10 AMC wards, the number of children enrolled are zero. That means all these centres are functional only on paper," Dalit Heet Rakshak Manch secretary Raju Solanki alleged.
"Not only this, but even Chairman of the School Board, AMC has publicly confessed that there are as many 27,000 'ghost' children enrolled in STPs," he claimed.
AMC's head of the city primary education committee L D Desai, however, claimed that there was no irregularity and denied charges of wrongdoing.
