INLD spreading canard about Fatehabad nuclear plant: Congress
INLD leaders are creating hype over the setting up of Fatehabad plant to gain cheap popularity among the masses, former Haryana finance minister said.
He alleged that opposition INLD leaders are misleading people for "cheap popularity".
"The INLD leaders are creating hype and hooplah over the setting up of this plant to gain cheap popularity among the masses," the former Haryana finance minister said.
The state does not have hydro-electrical or natural source for power generation and the demand for power is increasing day by day for domestic as well as industrial use. The capacity of the nuclear plant will be 2,800 MW and it would be sufficient to meet the power demand of the people in the state, said Singh, a legislator of Nalwa assembly seat.
He also said that the most developed countries rely on nuclear plants for their power needs.
"The Fatehabad plant will be built with the latest techniques and all safety measures will be put in place. Majority of the farmers of the area have already given their consent to give their land for the nuclear plant. The power generation in this area would bring prosperity for the people," he said.
He said the Congress government is thinking about the long term benefits of the people and therefore this ideal site was selected for the nuclear power plant.
Haryana Janhit Congress president Kuldip Bishnoi has also said that his party won't allow the setting up of the nuclear power plant.
