Infosys is Karnataka's pride

Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy on Friday described the Nasdaq-listed software major, Infosys as the "pride of Karnataka" and assured that the JDS-BJP government was committed to promoting IT sector in the state.

BANGALORE: Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy on Friday described the Nasdaq-listed software major, Infosys as the "pride of Karnataka" and assured that the JDS-BJP government was committed to promoting IT sector in the state.

Kumaraswamy, who visited Infosys campus at the invitation of the company's Chief Mentor and Chairman N R Narayanamurthy, said the JDS-BJP government was committed to promoting the IT sector to maintain the lead position enjoyed by the state, a release from the Chief Minister's secretariat said.

The chief minister said he got a new experience after he witnessed the strides made by the firm, which started its operations with $300.
