Infiltrators using Bengal as transit route, threaten internal security: State BJP chief Samik Bhattacharya
West Bengal BJP president Samik Bhattacharya alleged that infiltrators are using the state as a transit point, threatening India's internal security and altering the demography. He cited the porous India-Bangladesh border and called for joint oper...

Speaking to mediapersons, he said there is a silent demographic invasion of India with illegal immigrants.
“India’s internal security should not be compromised. The entire demography of our country and state has changed. Changes in demography have been witnessed in Seemanchal of Bihar. Change has led to ‘love jihad’ and ‘land jihad’ as well. Marrying Adivasi girls, there is an attempt to capture landed properties,” Bhattacharya said.
BJP has released a documentary on illegal infiltration through the porous borders of India and Bangladesh and cited threat to India's demography and security.
“The entire demography of the bordering districts of Bengal has been changed,” Bhattacharya said.
He emphasized the need for border fencing and joint operations by the state police and BSF to weed out infiltrators. “India shares a 2,200-km international border with Bangladesh and the border is porous and full of riverine areas. It is not possible for only BSF to do everything. Joint operations are a must,” Bhattacharya said.
Talking about the infiltration in North 24 Parganas districts, Bhattacharya said, “The real Muslims of Bengal have helped to identify the infiltrators and Rohingyas. By paying Rs 10,000, these illegal immigrants were getting ration cards, and voter cards were being sold at Rs 20,000. This has been done to achieve block voters for the TMC. In various non-BJP ruled states, the fake documents recovered were arranged from West Bengal.”
Bhattacharya pointed out how Mamata Banerjee had thrown papers on the desk of the Speakers and claimed the entire electoral list was filled by Bangladeshis during the Left regime.
