Infiltration bid foiled in Keran sector, 4 militants killed

A group of heavily-armed militants had tried to infiltrate into Kashmir through Keran sector on September 24 but were intercepted by the Army.

SRINAGAR: Army today foiled a major infiltration bid along the LoC in Keran sector of Kashmir, killing four militants, as the operation against the infiltrating ultras in the area entered the 12th day.

"An infiltration bid was foiled in Fateh Gali area of Keran sector, 25 kms west from Shalbhati village. Four militants have been killed in the operation," a Defence Spokesman said.

Six AK rifles were recovered from the spot, the spokesman said.

Intermittent exchange of fire between ultras and troops was going on in the sector where the operation against the infiltrating militants entered the 12th day today.
