Infiltration bid foiled along LoC in Poonch

JAMMU: Army today foiled an infiltration bid along the Line of Control in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.

There was suspected movement of a group of militants along the LoC in Krishnagati forward area of Poonch around 0615 hours today, a defence spokesperson said.

Alert Army troops guarding the border challenged them, he said, adding that there was brief exchange of firing in the area.

Troops are conducting search operations in the area after the infiltration bid was foiled, he said.
