Ahead of the Cabinet expansion by the HD Kumaraswamy-led Congress-JDS government in Karnataka, an infighting has broken out among the Congress members over Cabinet berths, Times Now reported.

Supporters of MB Patil, the working president of North Karnataka Congress, had offered his resignation to party president Rahul Gandhi over the party's dismal performance in the northern region.

The party is yet to respond to his resignation.


The much-awaited cabinet expansion will take place today in which Congress has been allocated 22 ministerial berths and 12 to JDS.

Congress was allocated Home, Irrigation, Health, Agriculture and Women Child Welfare ministries, while JDS agreed with Finance and Excise, Public Works Department, Education, Tourism and Transport ministries.
