NEW DELHI: India Inc has strongly condemned the series of blasts which shook the capital on Saturday evening. Top industry chambers CII, FICCI and Assocham however maintained that the blasts would not affect the Indian economy adversely.

The blasts were meant to disrupt peace in the capital, but the people behind these activities should know that they wont be successful, said CII director-general Chandrajit Banerjee.

Agreed Ficci secretary general Amit Mitra: Indian businesses are not afraid of blasts. The economy will be unaffected by them and defeat the motive of the perpetrators.

Assocham president Sajjan Jindal added: We condemn those who are involved in effecting those blasts and the organisations that are behind these dastardly acts.

However, since the blasts targeted vulnerable areas with high consumer footfall, the industry is concerned about security in and around commercial buildings.
